Championships
It is obvious that intellectual progress of the humanity is only possible when people interact, because the people are carriers of knowledge ideas and opinions. Information exchange can contribute to expansion of knowledge of the communicating people, transfer of the best practices, and consolidation of efforts for solution of different pressing problems.
It is also well known that the environment in which people compete with each another for social benefits, prestige and financial resources stimulates the social progress. In a situation when the success is based on objective comparison of results or achievements of people in a certain field, the speed of development of innovations will be much higher than in the usual conditions.
The majority of intellectuals are ambitious people, who wish to make their own contribution into science. In addition they seek recognition of their achievements and want to stand out in the professional environment.
This means that in science the competition is not only organically necessary (as an effective state of interpersonal interactions), but also highly effective (as the stimulating factor and the criteria of objective selection of really progressive and innovative ideas).
It is well-known that a lot of people are afraid of competition. And we’re not talking only about scientists. Many of us find it very difficult to demonstrate our knowledge, talents, skills and achievements to people and to have them appraised by others. We are so afraid to lose that sometimes we are simply paralyzed. Our initiative and purposefulness just vanish. But these are the false fears. They are far away from science and the logic of the historical process.
Free competition between the researchers and involvement of many people in expert assessment of original papers allow ensuring the impartiality, objectivity, general accessibility and progressive nature of the scientific competition.
This is the idea, which we used here in the International Academy of Science and Higher Education when we were developing the system of championships in scientific analytics for the PLATONICK project. Any researcher can take part in these intellectual competitions, regardless of his or her formal connections with science, property or social status, age, nationality or the country of residence.
There is only one basic requirement to participants of championships: an applicant must write a grammatically correct and logically grounded original scientific paper related to problems of modern science. That is why only diligent and goal-seeking participants, who respect knowledge and think in a progressive and creative way, can reach success in our project. Probably, the absolute majority of people think that they already have these qualities or do their best to develop them. In any case, the Academy is ready to provide everyone with the opportunity to realize their intellectual potential.
All original papers are reviewed by the international Expert Board and the open community of experts. The Board consists of many invited professionals, and the community is formed by the participants of the project. This system of reviewing of studies ensures the objective, fair, profound and comprehensive assessment of scientific papers.
The system of championships in scientific analytics includes the set of interconnected scientific and analytical competitions of different levels, types and formats, which are organized stage by stage within the one-year cycles. The Academy holds championships in all key branches of science.
There are three levels of championships: national level, continental level and the global level.
The next thing is the type. There are three types of championships: alpha-championship, which is held within a certain section of a corresponding branch of science; then there goes the absolute championship, which is held within the entire branch of science; and the last and the most extensive is the mega-championship. It covers the interdisciplinary studies.
Next is the format. There are two formats of championships: a separate stage of the championship and the yearly championship. Every year the Academy holds not less than three stages in every branch.
In addition, when summing up the final results of championships, we divide them into several sections: individual results, results shown by teams (these are the so-called national club championships), and the results of the national teams of different countries.
All this may seem a bit complex, but in fact the project is very simple. The Academy has built the platform, where everyone can be an effective creative researcher and can get different kinds of rewards for his or her original works. Isn’t this exciting? One just hast to submit an original scientific paper, which will be reviewed by experts and published in electronic and printed British collections of scientific papers, or even in professional journals.
In addition, a participant will review the works of other researchers from around the world and discuss with them the corresponding issues. If a participant gets a high grade for his or her scientific paper, such person will become a winner of the championship of the corresponding level. All winners receive special credits and prize money.
These special credits can be accumulated and further converted into the educational or the scientific qualifications in the framework of educational, doctoral or academic programs of the Academy. All titles and qualifications are formalized by exclusive international documents.
Participants of the project can become members of the National, Continental or the World federation of scientific analytics. One can also join the National team of the corresponding country.
Through international promotion programs the Academy distributes the information about participants of its projects around the globe.
Participants of championships in scientific analytics get precious experience of scientific studies and professional communications. Their papers are published in foreign editions and promoted via the Academy’s presentations; their qualification is improved; they receive exclusive titles and develop their professional status. In addition, the Academy grants qualification-related documents, which are very useful for career growth and professional mobility.
All kinds of progressive trends in the social life, all discoveries and achievements of the humanity are more or less connected with competition. The potential of individuals and the entire social groups can only be fully manifested in conditions of competition. That’s how the society has been developing in the historical perspective. The natural resources, which the humanity can benefit from, are quite limited and that’s why there are always some alternative ways to use or consume them.
The most civilized and organic way to distribute the limited resources is free and fair competition between spheres of social life, sectors of economy, social groups and individuals. When such competition is based on comparison of potential efficiency of implemented alternatives, it will be effective. Anyway, we can say that any form of competition is a beneficial social conflict, which determines the contents and the speed of the social progress.
In turn, the science is the historically significant social phenomenon and the determining sphere of social life. It cannot be inefficient. Science cannot be some quiet, closed and bureaucratic swamp, which is isolated from the society and has no other purposes than just to live. This field actually cannot effectively exist without real competition.
There are many scientists out there whose original studies make or could make a real contribution to the development of humankind. So these people must have the right to implement their innovations, distribute new and original knowledge, accumulate necessary resources and become prominent. And the science must be absolutely open and accessible for everyone who has knowledge, diligence, creative potential and inclination to think in a progressive way sufficient to conduct effective research.
This is the basic idea of the PLATONICK project and the system of championships in scientific analytics. We believe that in order to develop modern science and overcome its unreasonable isolation from the society and formalism, we must make the scientific process open and accessible, and ensure competition between original and progressive authors.
That is why we have created the mechanism of transparent and fair detection of talented researchers. We do our best to develop this mechanism and to create all necessary conditions for expansion of scientific activities of these people.
Winners of championships in scientific analytics are people who objectively outrun their opponents in the framework of organized and systematic professional competition. Such winners are determined by a collective and professional international expertise or assessment of original scientific studies. In this process all kinds of formal criteria, statuses, and biases do not matter at all.
Winners of analytical championships legitimately dominate in non-formal hierarchies of thinkers, which are formed in different fields of science at national, continental and the global levels.
So what benefits and rewards can participants and especially winners of championships in scientific analytics receive in the PLATONICK project? Let’s take a look.
1. A real contribution to the development of international science
Winners of analytical championships are progressive authors with original ideas, able to present their innovations in the proper format — a scientific paper. This kind of scientific creativity is appraised by the international community of experts. Scientific papers are assessed and discussed by professionals from different countries. The best works bring high grades and diplomas to their authors. These works are published in British collections of scientific papers and in professional journals. Other scientific papers are published in the collections. All authors receive special diplomas. Thus, the scientific papers are published at the international level and become available in British and European libraries. Depending on their quality and originality, papers can be granted high scientometric index. All this means great opportunities in international promotion of original innovations and their authors.
2. British publications and scientometric indexing
Publication of scientific works in electronic and printed British collections of scientific papers and journals, which are constantly expanding the scale of their scientometric indexing, ensures timely reaction to progressive original ideas in the international scientific environment.
3. Image
Image of the winner of a championship in scientific analytics is characterized by high level of international professional recognition of achievements and personal professional qualities of the researcher. Winner of the analytical championship is the talented, creative, diligent and goal-seeking person, who is not afraid of competition, and who is ready to challenge the unresolved pressing scientific problems.
4. Status
Status of the winner of a championship in scientific analytics is the objective and convincing fact, which can show that the researcher actually stands out among colleagues, and has obvious competitive advantages in the professional environment. This is the exclusive status, which is quite difficult to obtain. It can be positively perceived both in the scientific environment and by the potential employers. This status cannot be substituted by some similar analogue.
5. Prominence
What can actually predefine the prominence of the winner of a championship in scientific analytics? It is the exclusive and prestigious nature of the winner’s status. It is the international and professional nature of championships. It is the transparency of determination of the final results and involvement of many people in this process. It is the wide international publication of original studies.
6. Titles
Based on the results of expert assessment, winners of championships in scientific analytics can be granted several titles. These are the Champion (the winner), the Silver and the Bronze prize-winners. These titles can be granted after separate stages of championships and after the final championship of the year. Titles can be granted to winners of championships in different branches of science at the National, Continental and the Global levels. In order to somehow substantiate these titles the Academy and the World Federation of Scientific Analytics produce special international diplomas and medals. Taking into account all the existing rules, currently we organize championships not in all possible formats. But the project is growing and developing, so we believe that the system of championships will soon start working at full capacity.
7. Incentives to conduct the high-quality research
Taking into account the competitive nature of championships in scientific analytics and the extensive list of international experts involved, participation in such championships will inevitably mobilize the researcher to create only the high-quality scientific papers.
8. Incentives to write high-quality papers
Non-original scientific papers of poor quality will not be positively appraised by experts, and therefore will not be published in journals of the Academy. This means that they will never receive decent scientometric indexing.
9. Development of skills in professional communication in English
The most effective way to participate in the project is to submit your scientific paper in English. Obviously the papers stated in English will have the greatest prospects of international recognition, distribution and the scientometric indexing.
10. International communications
The PLATONICK project provides its participants with great opportunities in communication with colleagues from around the world, exchange of the best practices and scientific experience, as well as the professional cooperation. In the framework of the project we use different forms of organization of communications. These are the conferences, expert assessment, scientific discussions, congresses, and association of people thinking in a similar way into federations of scientific analytics.
11. Credits
Successful participants of championships in scientific analytics receive the certain amount of credits for every prize-winning place and every diploma obtained. These credits may be accumulated and further converted into the corresponding qualifications of further education, doctoral degrees and academic titles in the framework of educational, doctoral or academic programs of the Academy. Another way to use these credits is to pay for participation in different programs of the Academy and its partners.
12. Involvement as experts and editors
All participants of championships in scientific analytics at the same time take part in appraisal of scientific papers of their colleagues as members of the open international expert community. The most effective and professional participants of championships are invited by the Academy to take part in activities of Professional Expert Boards and the Editorial Boards of the field-specific journals of the Academy.
13. Further education, qualification improvement, internships, testing and implementation of innovations
Successful participants of championships in scientific analytics accumulate credits. They can use them to enrol in the programs of further education, qualification improvement, testing and implementation of innovations.
14. Scientific and analytical degrees and titles
As it was mentioned before, successful participants of championships in scientific analytics accumulate different amounts of credits. These credits can be used to take part in doctoral or academic programs of the Academy.
15. Access to participation in professional programs
The most progressive and successful participants of championships in scientific analytics are encouraged by the Academy to prepare and launch original video courses via the system of further and higher education.
16. Documents
In projects of the Academy all titles, educational qualifications, scientific degrees and academic titles are formalized by exclusive international documents and honorary marks. In addition the Academy offers international documents of the Europass system, which can be attached to educational certificates and diplomas.
17. Membership in Federations of Scientific Analytics and the National teams, and management of their activities
Participants of championships in scientific analytics automatically become members of the corresponding National federations. Every year each person, who has a diploma of any championship, can become a member of the national team of his or her country. The most successful participants of championships in scientific analytics are entitled to apply for the positions in the governing bodies of the National federations, and also for membership in international federations.
18. Prize money
There is an option in the PLATONICK project, which assumes payment of prize money to winners of championships in scientific analytics, although it hasn’t been fully implemented yet. But the project is already developing at the international arena. As soon as we are able to involve effective partners, investors and advertisers, winners of championships will start receiving the decent prizes for their creative efforts, progressive research and achievements.
Winners of championships in scientific analytics of the PLATONICK project receive a certain set of benefits and advantages. Among these rewards we should pay special attention to the so-called credits.
The certain amount of credits is given as a prize to successful and effective participants of the project. The results of championships in scientific analytics are determined on the basis of the joint expert assessment. The final marks and rankings are built using the special formula of integrated calculation of different criteria related participation of scholars in analytical championships. Thus, credits are the final comprehensive mark given to the scientific papers by the international community of experts, as well as the level of activity and efficiency of their authors in scientific discussions. It should be mentioned that credits are only given to winners of stages of championships and the final championship of the year. Other participants of the project receive only marks of expert assessment, but not the prize credits.
So why would you actually want to have any credits and what is their value in the framework of the PLATONICK project? Well, the project is not only about the scientific studies. Of course, one of its basic tasks is to create the open and respected international platform for organization and stimulation of scientific creativity, large-scale distribution and promotion of innovative original ideas.
But apart from that, in the framework of the project we also implement programs of further education and scientific certification. This is where participants can use their credits to take part in certain procedures. These procedures are: international certification, legalization and improvement of education, acquisition of further education qualifications, acquisition of the scientific and analytical doctoral degree, or acquisition of the academic title.
Rules of accumulation of credits and conversion of them into the corresponding educational and scientific qualifications are stated in the regulations of the International Academy of Science and Higher Education.
It should also be mentioned that educational programs of the project can be completed not only by spending the credits. Another way is to publish the corresponding number of original papers in the project, and receive the certain average mark of expert assessment.
So, you can see that the educational programs of the project may be successfully completed not only by winners of championships in scientific analytics, but also by the young, but talented and determined authors only at the initial stage of their scientific careers.
However, when speaking about the doctoral and academic programs of the Academy, we must understand that here applicants must accumulate certain amounts of credits in championships in scientific analytics and then convert them into the corresponding scientific and analytical doctoral degrees and academic titles. In the framework of these projects we have established additional terms related to professional experience, but apart from that we have developed the preferential modes of completion of these programs.
In the PLATONICK project we have built the system of structural and logical interconnections between the progressive scientific activity on the one side and the professional scientific and educational certification on the other side. This system is based on the mechanism of expert assessment and accumulation of credits.
We believe that this system is the most organic form of coexistence of science and education. We believe that this system offers the set of effective incentives to personal self-development and growth of creative potential. We believe that our mechanism of appraisal of creative and analytical potential of scholars is objective and fair. We believe that our project is a modern way to quickly find, build and distribute the advanced knowledge.
We believe that we offer the open and easy to access methods of improvement and certification of the level of professional knowledge and qualification. We believe that our project is the transparent and fair system of recognition of real scientific achievements, and overcoming of isolation and formalism in science. We believe that we offer the instrument of legitimate and undisputable determination and formalization of educational, scientific and analytical qualifications at the international level.
ATTENTION!!!
For the period of the scientific analytics championships in the experimental format *, the following special rules for determining winners and prize-winners of the championships are temporarily applied:
1) In case of absence or insignificance of competition (less than 3 participants) at the stages of championships of various levels and types, the tournament results can be determined by the decision of the Scientific Council of the IASHE on the basis of collegial expert assessments of the scientific works of the participants.
2) The Scientific Council of the IASHE has the right, taking into account the average point of the expert assessment of the author’s researches, to establish the following results of the championships at certain stages: score of at least 8.5 — “Golden Diploma” (1st place); grade not less than 7.5 — “Silver diploma” (2nd place), grade not less than 7 — “Bronze diploma” (3rd place).
* — The experimental format of the PlatoNicK project assumes special conditions for its functioning in the period after the reformatting of the GISAP project and up to the approval of the final version of the scientific and analytical programs of the Academy with the participation of attracted strategic partners (investors).
One of the latest innovative initiatives of the Academy in the field of science and education is a project for the implementation of unique events on social networks — the Intellectual and Analytical Εἶδος Championships of the World, Continents and Individual Countries.
